35 years ago today, QE2 was enroute to New York from Southampton. She would make the crossing in her fastest ever time of 4 days, 6 hours and 57 minutes at an average speed of 30.16 knots. Unlike older fast liners, she did that with just 2 propellors too. Now the crossing takes from 7 to 9 days.

Thought you might like to see how your room would have looked 20 years ago? You probably prefer the current décor, but your room used to have a huge amount of custom built wooden furniture for storage during lengthy voyages, and a partition door to separate off the walk in wardrobe area.
