At first I was simply impressed that my giant Costco cambro even fit in the fridge, stuffed as it usually is...but then my partner pointed out that the turkey looks like it's ready to throw hands and now I'm cracking up every time I open the fridge 😂🦃
Photo is of the right side of my open fridge, it is pretty full already, yet somehow I have managed to fit a large cambro (a sturdy plastic container used mostly in restaurants) inside it. The cambro contains an 18lb turkey swimming in brine, and the turkey is placed breasts down which leaves the legs facing up and out. The angle at which it's laying in the brine makes it look like the turkey has two fists raised, as if it is ready to fight.

Picture is three loaves of chocolate banana bread on a cooling rack on my counter. The first two loaves are of typical shape and color for chocolate banana bread, although they are flatter than usual because we don't use eggs in our house. The third loaf, however, is distinctly darker and flatter than his friends, apparently due to the substitution of oat flour for all purpose flour.

While we do try to minimize meat in our weekly recipes, pork is one of those that gives a lot of oomph for little meat and money. Between the butt I had in the deep freezer already and the two I got on super sale last week, I've cooked almost 40lbs and feel more ready for the winter apocalypse 🫠
A finished set of boneless pork butts from Costco, obtained for less than two dollars per pound. The bone in pork butts I obtained from Fred Meyer here in the Pacific Northwest looked similar when finished. Pork butt is versatile and freezes well, and can typically be found for no more than 2.50 per pound anywhere in the lower 48. The butts are cooked well with salt and pepper, an all day process that leads to a wonderfully caramelized skin and tender inside A picture of the inside of my fridge with three pork butts of various sizes along with other miscellaneous fridge items. Two bone in, one boneless, the butts were found on very good sale, under two dollars per pound in the Pacific Northwest, and they will be used as a versatile meat inclusion in many meals throughout the winter. The bones will be used for stock for soup season.

I took up loom knitting recently to help my anxiety and I'm currently working on this super cute blanket for my bff's daughter 🥰
Picture is of a work in progress blanket I'm making on a flat loom. The blanket is a mixture of pinks, purples, blues and whites and it rests on a gray ottoman for the picture. Loom knitting requires you to use a sharp pick to pull one strand of yarn over the other and this repetitive action is extremely soothing to my anxiety.

I was pretty proud of my second ever attempt at a loom-knitted hat until I realized that following the closing instructions but not attaching a like it said to resulted in a little air vent at the top 😂

The narrative that these corporations are afraid of trump is clearly false. He promised them he would crush labor protections and hobble the workforce and he is making good on that promise. They are rewarding him for that promise. Via The Guardian:
