You're just describing goal-post moving.

Which is why 90% of Dems voted against this and Senate dems are holding the line on shutdown...

This thing passed (the House)... because voters said Republicans are good and should have power to pass things.

Most normies do not believe Dems have "only gone right" so when the vibes are shit they think leftism/progressivism is exactly what's failed.
February 18, 2026 at 10:35 PM
I don't know why some progressives think that the winning/cool play is to always shit on everything and pretend their ideas have never been tried instead of SUPPORTING and championing when progressive stuff happens.

He did the exact student loan forgiveness by fiat gambit they asked for. They screamed about drone strikes for a decade and he ended them. He stood on the picket line! He did a mini-green new deal!

You can always move the goal posts but these were basically progressive wet dreams circa 2018.

"I cant believe I voted for dry turkey sandwich but everyone else voted for a shit sandwich and for some reason I only have a shit sandwich to eat for dinner wtf. 😖Worst off I didn't even get a turkey sandwich for some reason!🤔"
February 18, 2026 at 10:24 PM
Because... they lost. Not enough people "held their nose" (also voting is pretty easy for most people and you paid literally no price besides psychic damage from being a baby).

Voting isn't an insurance policy with a protection racket - if they lose, they lose. They cant protect until they win
February 18, 2026 at 10:24 PM
Some things like corporate taxes you can say was a revision if you're going back far enough and there's not necessarily a clear analogue for finally pulling the plug on drone strikes/afghanistan but you can at least say he turned the tide going 20-30 years

When have we have we ever had medicare negotiating drug prices and capping them? When have we had the covid UI benefits that we had? When has a president walked the picket line?
February 18, 2026 at 10:07 PM
You can firmly believe that is A1 most important... but you can't pretend these other things didn't happen or that you are chiefly/primarily have "economic" concerns and Democrats have only "moved right".
February 18, 2026 at 9:55 PM
Not if you're paying attention.

Believing that Gaza is/was more important than this stuff is defensible; not being aware of them and saying Dems only move right is not really.

You choose your algorithm - The comms are coming from inside the house.

Damn! Forgot that one! thank you
February 18, 2026 at 9:19 PM
I think the RCV affect of the no-Cuomo's getting to support each other and campaign jointly was a big help vs the 'crabs in a bucket', "uhh uhh, when do I drop out and endorse?" effect of FPP

Hard to say if it would have changed the outcome, maybe not, but i think it was beneficial.
February 18, 2026 at 9:15 PM
Leftists got so mad Kamala pledged to raise the minimum wage and pass the largest medicare expansion in history they had to fully hallucinate that she did a 50 state whistle-stop tour with Liz Cheney where she looked into the camera to say "I am the exact kind of Neocon your dad is"
February 18, 2026 at 9:13 PM
✅ Drone strikes to zero
✅ Student loan forgiveness by fiat
✅ Raised corporate taxes
✅ Clean energy infrastructure bill
✅ Capped drug costs
✅ The president literally on a picket line
✅ Consumer protections; nightmare for corporate mergers
February 18, 2026 at 9:12 PM
Joe Biden was literally the most progressive pro-worker president of the last 50-70 years.

It's so fuckin' weird to see leftists get some partial or full version or attempt at everything they screamed about from 2010-2020 and then just pretend it never happened
February 18, 2026 at 9:12 PM
Hmmm why does my virtuous Green Party start filling up with all these shit-libs the second we pass 10% participation in any election?? Has anyone tried unplugging the party and then plugging it back in???🧐
