Doing something a bit more ambient (or as close as I can get whilst still using my distortion pedals🤡). Was initially inspired by a sample of an old HDD booting up, so crunchy, so whirry. 💾

Put this together in a couple of hours last night, really satisfying dialling in the specific frequencies and levels that trigger the sweetspots of each distortion pedal. Backed up the bass with a kick drum this time, to see what that was like.

Was really struggling to get this idea to work, still kind of rough, but has some moments. Using the clean output more to compress down the effects (there's probably a more correct way of saying that). Also having to find smarter ways to fit all these outputs into my simple mixer.

Pressed my old marshall amp into action again. Lots of filtering, bit crushing, and compression going on across 3 FX chains. Also enjoying the way the notes on the arpeggio drop in and out randomly, feels kind of groovy, might even sound good with some swing?

This one uses a set of samples recorded by Venus Theory on a bizarre synth called a Landscape Noon (look it up, it's insane).

All run through my strongest pedal arrangement yet, having isolated what makes too much background noise (only foreground noise please).
