Talking data-driven politics, news, science, and more from a progressive perspective.

Follow me to see the science, data, and best arguments for why a populist-left realignment is the best path forward for the Democratic Party.
Working 3 jobs and still falling behind.

I'm an elder millennial who began my career around the time of the Great Recession. Yet I 100% do not envy the economic conditions left to Gen-Z, which seem significantly worse than what we saw at that age.

And they said we were the poorest generation ever!

This is impossible in other countries, where the wealthy who commit severe enough crimes can simply lose their fortunes, having them seized by the government.

You cannot bribe the government or its head of state if you no longer have money.

Why isn't this a thing here?

One of the most influential voices on this topic, Greg Pallast, led the charge on the fact that we can prove beyond reasonable doubt the election was stolen.

But Trump made calling him out on it impossible after 4 years of the same accusation going the other way.

Trump Lost. Vote Suppression Won.

When your primary power is being a sycophant, you can definitely rise high in the ranks.

But if you ever make the mistake of taking a promotion that requires your to actually lead or say anything to the public?

That will be a big mistak-

-Oh hey, Hakeem! We were just talking about you.

Democrats seemed to have a moment where they were beginning to question their establishment leaders.

In the months since, though, many have forgotten to continue to focus on that issue and seem to be moving right back into their default position of blaming everyone but themselves.

It's really weird that all the comments seemed to completely strawman my whole point.

I mentioned many other things besides cars as indicative of US decline, and somehow, that just went over a lot of their heads?

Even after mentioning high-speed rail, they were only talking about cars? Very weird.

China has record solar panel production, high-speed rail, and electric cars.

Meanwhile, the US is canceling solar projects, making EVs more expensive, blocking high-speed rail, and literally doing bicycle carts straight out of 20th century China.

The US decline is getting super depressing.

Democrats need to be ready to deal with the GOP plans to directly interfere with votes being counted.

For years (most notably in 2000), the GOP has relied on targeted vote purges of black communities and elsewhere, to skew votes in their favor.

More must be done to make sure every vote is counted.

Trump is giving away the prize of the greatest energy revolution in a century to China - for free.

They must all just be laughing at him every day over there, as he does everything he can to burn renewables to the ground and make century-old energy tech be our only option.

He's defunding defense services he doesn't think he can control while arming and funding radical groups like ICE that he knows he can control.

If Democrats aren't thinking about how to prepare for the event of an armed occupation, they'll be making a mistake many in history didn't live to regret.

The most frustrating part of all this is that those breaking the law can continue breaking it until we can finally get a ruling.

Then, they just pivot to some other location or strategy and do it all over again.

Defense and proper procedure is always slower. And in the interim, people suffer.

Doesn't even look human when you zoom in.

Probably just AI photo editing they use on phones messing up the shot.

But still, this might be just guessing at motive, but it feels like he's smiling under that mask - like he enjoys what he's doing.

Yeah, I saw this several hours after posting this.

Honestly, my guess here was pretty close - they were clearly guilty, and they clearly caused the collision that did occur.
October 6, 2025 at 4:28 PM
Until I see the video evidence I'll assume they mean they caused a pile-up car accident and shot an unarmed person in response, blaming the person in front of them for the accident, when everyone knows the person in the rear is always at fault in accidents.

But maybe they can prove otherwise?

When Tomi Lauren was like, "We invited them to Tennessee" during her "debate" with Krystal, this is what it looked like.

I've never seen a president so effectively drive the nation towards a reminder of why general strikes are so important and necessary.

No Democratic president has ever been so effective at giving hundreds of millions of people an education on why labor rights exist than Donald J. Trump.

Closest he's come to endorsing someone - and it's the guy who quit the race (probably for a big payday).

I suspect this is going to lead to a Cuomo endorsement after saying something like, "I admired a lot about Adams, and he's endorsing Cuomo, so I support that as well."

You heard it here first.

The notion anything besides parental consent is needed for age verification is, at the very least, nothing more than a lie to justify the collection of marketable PII (personally identifiable information).

PII, is of course, far more lucrative data to sell than non-identifiable information.

Our 2-party system needs revision, not because it's untrue that neoliberalism is better than authoritarianism.

We need more viable choices because neoliberalism and its precursors are the kind of politics that always precede and exacerbate authoritarianism.

See: Cuba, Russia, Italy, USA.
