Talking data-driven politics, news, science, and more from a progressive perspective.

Follow me to see the science, data, and best arguments for why a populist-left realignment is the best path forward for the Democratic Party.
Doesn't even look human when you zoom in.

Probably just AI photo editing they use on phones messing up the shot.

But still, this might be just guessing at motive, but it feels like he's smiling under that mask - like he enjoys what he's doing.

Rest in piece to Jane Goodall, one of the most wonderful humans, who helped expose multiple generations to the incredible world of our cousins in the primate kingdom.

And besides that brief stint as a cartoon, slave-driving, diamond miner in the 90s, was truly one of the best humanity had to offer.

Steven Miller's speech almost perfectly matches much of Hitler's 1920 speech in Munich. Some of the language is nearly identical, even.

This is a side-by-side comparison of key aspects of both speeches, where you can see he is directly using the language of one of History's most notorious monsters.

It's not to absolve Trump. It's to say that none of this is possible without the help of the SCOTUS.

@theonion.com's viral reporting on RFK Jr's clear attempt to bring back the cult sci-fi horror classic, The Stuff!

There's something deeply hilarious about the fact that Elon's "America Party" has nearly the same name as the "American Party".

That party favored policies around opposition to immigration over abolition of slavery.

They were also called "The No-Nothing Party" - a very apt name for Musk's party! 😂

My wife seems to be on something of a banana kick this week?

It's amazing anyone could even tell this woman was having an allergic reaction, given what she looks like on a regular day.

Guys. Gals. Everybody. You gotta learn to be skeptical.

If something seems impossible, first make sure it isn't a lie.

I went directly to their official results page (app.enhancedvoting.com/results/publ...), the same one this doctored screenshot is from, and saw the results were much less radical:

It's like they've seen this cartoon 10 million times but still don't get how ridiculous this attitude is.

Medicaid For All is a *money-saving* solution that reduces the net cost of health care for all Americans.

So, really, the fact that it also helps non-citizens is almost a happy coincidence.

Maybe I'm off base.

But if everything he did was not legal, should he not be required to turn over any and all data he acquired in that process, as well as destroy any work derived from that information?

The meme is from The Other 98%.

This may surprise you if you weren't a business major.

I am a social Democrat. I believe small businesses are a great engine for change and innovation. But all great forces must be balanced by equally powerful counter weights, or they will inevitably lead to oppression.

Unmitigated capitalism is evil.
It must be controlled or there can be no freedom.

Google may want to rethink how it presents itself when sending "Google Analytics" emails to business owners like myself.

The abbreviations here are getting ruthless! 😂

This small army of bots and scammers is what life on Facebook has become. It is so much better on #Bluesky!

Instead of this, imagine it was your vote, not what your state or your country voted for that determined what laws, taxes, etc. you lived by?

Voting Blue meant you paid tax rates set for Blue citizens, received Blue rights, and determined how your tax revenue was spent.

Would anyone vote Red?

A brief explanation of that:
March 27, 2025 at 12:16 PM
Maybe it's just a coincidence, or maybe a world with weakened or absent Medicaid means that people die younger.

But this is the world the DOGE administration wants:

One where regular people die young, so the rich never have to worry about being taxed to address the inequalities of their own greed.

Perhaps a slight oversimplification, but one I broadly support! 😂
