In a “planning for retirement”session I attended in November, the host showed how IRAs are affected if there’s an economic downturn near the beginning of the drawdown period as opposed to 10 or 15 years in. If it’s near middle or end, funds last 20 years; but if at the beginning, funds don’t last.

I know a woman who recently died of breast cancer. She knew she had a concerning lump, but couldn’t get treated because she didn’t have a job, couldn’t afford insurance. By the time she got a job with insurance, the cancer had metastasized. Insurance matters too

Does Signal send push notifications? Imagine looking over someone’s shoulder at their push notifications and seeing some of those for this not-so-super-secret fiasco

I think we are the bad guys now. We have turned our back on all of western civilization and aligned with Russia and Hungary. We’re not going to have Canada as the 51st state, the US will instead be a vassal state of Russia.

I had an MRI this month. My portion of the bill was over $2,700. I have good insurance. I am (obviously) in the US.

I need a button to press that’s not a heart because I don’t like any part of this.

Imagine the fear of the family members who turned in these thugs

So is absolute power, from what I hear. Aside from the corrupting part, of course

A machine will never strike for higher wages, better working conditions, or more time off. I graduated from college in 1980, in a recession, took the first crappy job I could get. I was jealous of the auto workers’ wages back then. Sadly, there aren’t good jobs for people with only a HS diploma now.

We as a nation also began pushing the idea that a college education was the way to get ahead in life, along with eliminating good union jobs that provided a comfortable living for HS graduates. Even a job at Enterprise Car Rentals requires a college degree now.

But how many of the tech bros graduated from community college? Did any of them go to community college and then transfer as juniors to a more prestigious school? How many good lifetime friendships can a person make if they transfer in as a junior?

So they voted for the candidate who was impressed with Elon because he fires auto workers

But also, we should eliminate the Department of Education because the Founding Fathers were wrong and we don’t need an educated, informed electorate.

The jealous rant of a woman dumped for a guy with more money. An old story, and I am here for it.

Trump wants to be Putin. I fail to see how expansionist wars will decrease the price of eggs

My Mom told us the before-vaccines story of the actress Gene Tierney, who caught rubella from a fan while she was pregnant. She lost her baby. Mom made sure we got all the vaccines: smallpox, polio, measles. We were glad to be protected back then.

Wonder if Musk has ever had sex with an underage girl, or maybe it’s how many underage girls has he had sex with.

Trump wants to invade a sovereign country just like his buddy Vlad did

I remember getting my smallpox vaccination at school when I was in second grade, where the entire school filed into the auditorium by grade and class to get the vaccine. Vaccines work!

As a North Carolinian, thank you! I don’t know if I’m among the 60,000 whose votes they’d like to cancel, but I’m disgusted that a smarmy Republican who can’t accept that he’s a loser thinks it’s OK to negate votes just so he can pretend he’s not a loser.
