I told my son the neighborhood kids asked if he could come play basketball with them. He said OK. He’s in the red shirt, 20, always game to play even if he towers over them now.

Had a lovely walk in a national wildlife refuge today. On a chilly winter day, there wasn’t much wildlife to be seen, but it was quiet with just the occasional drumming of a distant woodpecker. Glad the government shutdown was averted so the ranger we saw has a job to come to on Monday.

It’s cold in my corner of the world, and even colder for the dumpster fire of politics. So here’s a comfy cat for comfort.
