quick google search since i'm not gonna root around in my basement says it's muckraker #8, which was put together back in the day by patrick marley, who actually is a muckraker at the washington post (what's left of it, that is).

i have been saying for years to my spouse that we should do a big west kentucky/downstate illinois trip, especially since i want to see prehistoric sites, plus the kentucky bubble, but alas i haven't gotten around to it.

hahaha wow, didn't realize that's what that was. that ferry is a long way from uhhh anything. but taking it would be cool, only place i've crossed the ohio by ferry is in augusta, kentucky which is east of cincinnati. haven't spent much time in west kentucky or anyplace in illinois south of i-64.

ryan davis, stereolab, the ancients, orcutt/shelley/miller, sir richard bishop, takaat, the ex, mazozma are just some more great releases from this year. really the tip of the iceberg, there's tons of stuff i haven't heard.

lots of 2025 releases i haven't even gotten around to listening to yet but the records by tim barnes, matmos, sarah hennies & tristen krause, bitchin' bajas, and natural information society are all great... not to mention the duo record "totality" by natural information society & bitchin bajas!

maybe it's just that i'm old and maybe it's just that it's obscure but i first heard about mx-80 from codeine covering "promise of love" way back in *checks notes* 1992.
