Also important to note this response by Sam Duncan, though I don't think it changes Powell's central point.

The 1,600 military amputees since 2001 whose vehicles were so easily targeted with IEDs are not play-acting.

Such an interesting season. The big villain arc falls flat at the end IMO thanks to the last-minute replacement, but the monster of the week episodes are absolutely killer.

The problem was he wasn't infamous for driving businesses into the ground. He was famous for playing a fake businessman on TV.

I had voters in NoVa--voters who hated him--telling me he was a good businessman. The Apprentice killed our democracy.

Our culture industry is suffering from a debilitating shortage of quality hacks. The current hacks aren't good enough.
I am begging writers of functionally immortal popular culture franchises to rediscover Umberto Eco's "The Myth of Superman."
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I mean, imagine the writers of "Diamonds are Forever" saying they're stuck because in the last film Bond was George Lazenby.

Obviously the correct response is for Senate Dems to filibuster it.
