Big FSU fan, history major. Two main sports are football and baseball (Noles sports + Rays). Favorite area of study is the 19th century South. Also interested in legal studies and Mormon studies.
Maybe now that my Saturdays are practically free I can work on an article I’ve been wanting to write but just haven’t really had time for

We gotta fire Mike Norvell man. It’s gotta be by EOD.

Miami lost and it’s No Kings day. Only thing that could make this better is a Noles dub but I’ve learned I can’t count on that

FSU being on here (top 3!) is kinda funny considering they just gutted basically every interesting class from gen ed.
I respect FIRE’s legal advocacy but reporters really need to stop using FIRE’s rankings unless you truly believe that campus speech is most free in southern states that have banned ideas and concepts from being taught in the classroom

I am pleased to announce that I will be taking my talents to Florida State University’s graduate school.

Thank you to my friends, family, and mentors who have guided me through this exciting time. Please respect my decision. GO NOLES! 🍢🍢

Trump’s birthright citizenship EO does not “appear” to clash with the Fourteenth Amendment, it smashes into it going at 200 mph. It is patently unconstitutional and I seriously wish the media would start calling ducks ducks.

@smbrnsn.bsky.social congratulations! I’m sure you’ll be getting comments like these for the foreseeable future but I have never been more excited to learn about taxes!

This truly is one of the few memes that can really capture the current moment.

Idk I feel like “president moved swiftly to consolidate power in first week” would have been a more accurate headline but hey. We already lost the media so what can ya do

No one:

Historians writing about antebellum America: “…a young and unknown congressman from Illinois by the name of Abraham Lincoln…”

It’s like the Wilhelm scream of historical writing

Not enough for a snowman and I can’t really stay long but man it turned into a party in the most FSU way possible 😂 love love love that this is how my last semester is going ❤️

Bitcoin is one of those things where you don’t have to know anything about it to know that those who buy into it are dumb as rocks

Is it just me or does birthright citizenship seem to be one of the only unambiguously clear principles in the Constitution? It should tell you something that the Supreme Court has never looked at the matter in *checks watch* 126 years after striking down the Chinese Exclusion Act as unconstitutional

It is kind of nerve wracking being on the edge of yet another paradigm shift. The open consolidation of power over the last couple of months into the hands of a new kleptocratic oligarchy is a lot to process. Time will tell, but it feels like we just witnessed the end of our constitutional order.

Third day into the semester and my professor still hasn’t published the Canvas page yet. The first class meeting is at 3 today. This is going to be my busiest class so I’m just like

Read Peggy Fletcher Stack’s piece in the Salt Lake Tribune about Orwellian BYU hiring and firing practices. All I’ll say is that I will be forever, forever grateful that I did not go to BYU

Btw if you want an easy and extremely useful New Year’s resolution I recommend keeping a planner. I did that last year and it was so useful it was easy to keep one and legit kind of transformed things for me.

So I have to read Dred Scott and Fair Admissions v. Harvard next semester—both 230+ pages. I decide to read DS over break to lighten my load for next semester. My professor assigned an abridged version of it and kept the entirety of Fair Admissions 🫠

The “controversy” over Six Triple Eight is really sad. People claiming it’s too much about race… Reminds me of a time when I watched Twelve Years A Slave with someone and they complained that it was just trying to make white people feel bad. That how do we know it was that bad…it was an 1850s memoir

It’s starting to hit me that this is my last semester at FSU as an undergrad.
