We use structural biology, biochemistry, and (stem) cell biology to understand the roles of RNA-binding proteins in neurodevelopmental #PURA Syndrome and neurodegeneration. We are located at @uniulm.bsky.social and at @helmholtzmunich.bsky.social, Germany.
We are so grateful! PURA Syndrome Deutschland e.V. makes donation to support our research on #PURA syndrome at @helmholtzmunich.bsky.social, #Rare #puraperfect.

Had an exciting visit to the German University in Cairo (www.guc.edu.eg). I was impressed by how much this university contributes to mutual understanding between Europe and the Middle East through academic exchange. Much needed these days! Close collaboration with #UUlm and supported by #DAAD.

We participated in Interact Munich 2025, where we had the opportunity to present our research through posters, connect with fellow young researchers, and attend inspiring talks. A big thank you to the organizing team for making such a fantastic event possible! #interact2025

Lab work is important but also consumes lots of energy and resources. We are the first lab at @www.helmholtz-munich.de to be awarded with the Gold level LEAF (Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework) certificate of the @ucl.ac.uk for our efforts to become a more sustainable laboratory!

Terrified by the global developments and current politics? We took a break from the world by attending a hip-hop dance class. Lots of excitement, confusion, and happiness. We can highly recommend it as a mental therapy...

Hello Bluesky 🤠
Our very first post is about our recent paper in Nucleic Acids Research: so-called PUN motifs are repetitive elements enabling proteins to catalyze #RNA folding and RNA-dependent #condensate formation ( #LLPS). 15% of human proteins contain 3 or more PUN motifs. See bit.ly/4fZ3f54.
