Dear councillor Bezo, I ask you to take bus everyday for meetings and appointments this winter. I guarantee that you will come up with a motion to improve the transit system. You'll ask admin to hire a consultant to do a study. So, please get off your high horse & understand the problem. #yqrcc

In spring, summer, fall walking there is not a big deal but winters it is a serious challenge. With the snow blowing in your face and wind chill -20/-25 walking 700m is the last thing I want to do. And, repeat the same after work. #yqrcc

Unfortunately some councillors like Bezo do not understand that staffing is not the issue. He seems to speak without knowing the facts. One person ends up dealing with multiple projects whereas some projects do not have enough people that a PM is BA,Tester,Trainer and anything else you can think off

It appears like they're a team with the policy "you scratch my back and I will yours".

Also, the councillors do a transit challenge in summers. You can walk to one stop to another if need be. Try it in winters, that'll be considered a challenge. With a wind chill of -30, wait for the bus to go to a doc appointment or grocery shopping. Even the soul freezes to death in that weather.

I agree, they do not realize how important an effective transit system is for many people. They talk a lot about a liveable city, liveable city has good transit system, people find it convenient than driving cars. Also, there are many people who can't drive cuz of med conditions or don't own a car.
