It’s just an extension of the “no true Scotsman” fallacy, not some sort of systemic issue that is specifically designed to oppress or silence them. But because it happened and they think themselves the smartest boys and girls in the world, they are basically reliving past “trauma”.

Honestly, I feel like it IS something that happens to a lot of people when they get out of college, because they are arguing/debating with immature people who use that kind of rhetorical crutch. But that crutch is used all the time, in all different situations about all different kinds of topics.

For those wondering, yes, I did get the urn that looked the most like Paul Bearer’s.

I definitely enjoyed experiencing it without ever once having my brain compare it to something else from the larger universe, in a format that really plays to the strength of the character. And, yeah, in terms of side quests, it’s a lot like Uncharted (extremely complimentary) in that way.

I loved everything about that game, even though it’s very much on rails. One of my favorite new ones in a long, long time. And I had never seen any of the Indiana Jones movies before playing! (That has since been remedied.)
