There are two choices before us: collaboration or resistance.

As neighbors are brutally attacked and separated from their families because of this administration, I choose resistance. Free DC.
Statement that reads: "History has shown us that there are two choices in times of rising authoritarianism: collaboration or resistance. Today, Mayor Bowser chose collaboration by signing over control of the District to Trump’s occupying forces. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen federal forces smash windows, tackle people in the middle of the street, disappear people from worksites, and brutally abduct parents as their children helplessly watch. These are horrifying attacks meant to destroy lives and beat down our city. As we work tirelessly to take care of each other and protect each other, we deserve elected leaders who will join us in the fight, not abandon us. We must all come together to make the District safe for everyone who calls it home. Safety in DC means getting out from under the thumb of Trump’s monstrous administration. We deserve autonomy. We need statehood. We demand a free DC."
