As usual Pete Buttigieg has the right words
Starting this week, we’ll all pay more at the store because of the Trump tariffs, even while he’s finalizing a multi-trillion-dollar tax cut for the wealthy.

All the bluster is meant to get us talking about literally anything else.

No Senator was elected to let the President or some unaccountable billionaire decide how YOUR tax dollars get spent.

Let me be clear: CONGRESS holds the power of the purse, and NO President can unilaterally abolish an entire agency or ignore our appropriations laws.

It's very reasonable for normal, upstanding Americans to make clear that they won't stand for unAmerican trash like JD Vance. Everyone has their limits.
🚨 BREAKING: After torpedoing yesterday’s meeting with Zelensky, JD Vance fled to Vermont for vacation—only to be met by hundreds of furious protesters.

Couldn’t have happened to a better guy!

Good trouble locally
This is excellent.
JD Vance is skiing at a Vermont resort this weekend. The resort’s snow reporter took the opportunity to make some good trouble, sending out a message of resistance against an administration “threatening our democracy, our livelihoods, our land”. [kottke.org]

One of my favorite days at the JFK Library is the Presidents’ Day Festival where we celebrate our democracy! #America250
Last week, JFK Library visitors met Presidents John Adams & Abraham Lincoln, and First Lady Abigail Adams! They participated in history-themed crafts, attended a state dinner, and joined the Okra Dance Company for a Dancing Journey of Africans in America.
