So happy @erikpiepenburg's DINING OUT has a swanky cover & is available for preorder! Out😉June 3. Loved exploring a century of gay restaurants, where (much of the time), food was secondary to community, sex & romance. And, some spots still exist today! @jmdargz @GrandCentralPub

Book rec! W/Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey coming '26, it was time to take Emily Wilson's translation off my shelf & I LOVED it. Her language isn't as poetically beautiful as Robert Fagles', but the story's so good that one doesn't need the artistic adornments 1/2

BOOK REC + Call for Recs: I loved how THE 100 YEARS WAR ON PALESTINE expanded my understanding of the long colonial history in the Middle East. I appreciated Rashid Khalidi's deep insight into the PLO, though I do think he should have included the Yom Kippur War in his accounting

I really recommend a summertime layoff, if it's gotta happen at all. It lets you plan museum days, birthday parties, drinks on boats, beach days. Grateful to everyone in my life who's sticking around beyond the editor part of the story.

One thing about being laid off in publishing is the pipeline's long. I'll be bringing you books thru 2026. Here's a finished copy of @ImTiffanyYu's ANTI-ABLEIST MANIFESTO! Out October 8. One of the last titles printed w/the Hachette Go colophon! Acquired by @thealisonfinch

I've been remiss! Meet Peter Pawker! 12lbs of snugglebug. Preferred toy's a piece of yarn. Insists on sleeping in a cardboard box. Like a true Spider-Cat, he leaps tall bookcases in a single bound, but mistimes the floor to bed leap. The absolute sweetest sweet boy; besties 4ever

LIFE UPDATE: I no longer work at Hachette Book Group. They reorged Hachette Books / Hachette Go and I was one of many let go, and I am OK! #Publishing thread 🧵

A lot can happen in 8 years. September 26, 2016, I walked into HBG for the first time.

My job isn't the typical editor role everyone envisions--buying projects, editing them, publishing them. I also go through the 3300 titles on our backlist of previously published books & surface ones for repackaging/revising. This Regency historical romance novella by 35x NYT

Happy pub week to @JohnRBruning--a wonderful friend & author partner thru multiple books & editors. FIFTY-THREE DAYS ON STARVATION ISLAND's an incredible story of the standoff b/t Imperial Japanese & a handful of Marine aviators defending Americans dug in @ Guadalcanal.

Happiest of pub days to Paige Layle and BUT EVERYONE FEELS THIS WAY - a raw and eye-opening account of one woman's journey to an autism diagnosis, and how it saved her life. So proud of Paige's creativity, perseverance, and bravery.

Happiest of pub days & evenings to VESTIGE, an “ambitious secret society tale” (Kirkus) which merges heritage with world-building to deliver a cathartic and at times humorous speculative fiction commentary on how we survive our times! Proud of my Anonymous friend. ✨✨✨

Book rec! ON EARTH WE'RE BRIEFLY GORGEOUS. Written as a letter from Little Dog, a queer Vietnamese American, to his mother. Ocean Vuong's language on the page is so beautiful, he had me in tears. He's a poet and makes great use of empty space on the page. A slim, powerful read.
