So happy @erikpiepenburg's DINING OUT has a swanky cover & is available for preorder! Out😉June 3. Loved exploring a century of gay restaurants, where (much of the time), food was secondary to community, sex & romance. And, some spots still exist today! @jmdargz @GrandCentralPub

Book rec! W/Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey coming '26, it was time to take Emily Wilson's translation off my shelf & I LOVED it. Her language isn't as poetically beautiful as Robert Fagles', but the story's so good that one doesn't need the artistic adornments 1/2

My search result: if this plan passes and the retirement age is raised for anyone 59yrs or younger, it would cut the current social security benefits for 620,000 people in my district.

BOOK REC + Call for Recs: I loved how THE 100 YEARS WAR ON PALESTINE expanded my understanding of the long colonial history in the Middle East. I appreciated Rashid Khalidi's deep insight into the PLO, though I do think he should have included the Yom Kippur War in his accounting

This includes if you have bird feeders! Consider stopping refilling birdbaths and bird feeders around your home.

I really recommend a summertime layoff, if it's gotta happen at all. It lets you plan museum days, birthday parties, drinks on boats, beach days. Grateful to everyone in my life who's sticking around beyond the editor part of the story.

This is the COVID vax you want. More closely matched to current variants than Moderna & Pfizer, likely longer protection due to using protein like the flu shot, and fewer side effects. You may need to call a few pharms to find, since it was approved later. But worth it!

One thing about being laid off in publishing is the pipeline's long. I'll be bringing you books thru 2026. Here's a finished copy of @ImTiffanyYu's ANTI-ABLEIST MANIFESTO! Out October 8. One of the last titles printed w/the Hachette Go colophon! Acquired by @thealisonfinch

It's not early when novavax's vaccine's been ready since at least early July. It's months late.

I've been remiss! Meet Peter Pawker! 12lbs of snugglebug. Preferred toy's a piece of yarn. Insists on sleeping in a cardboard box. Like a true Spider-Cat, he leaps tall bookcases in a single bound, but mistimes the floor to bed leap. The absolute sweetest sweet boy; besties 4ever

Eye dr told me today that my eyes are a little dry and my tear ducts could benefit from some TLC so she prescribed watching videos of Tim Walz talking about IVF and reproductive freedom. Did the trick!!

LIFE UPDATE: I no longer work at Hachette Book Group. They reorged Hachette Books / Hachette Go and I was one of many let go, and I am OK! #Publishing thread 🧵

A lot can happen in 8 years. September 26, 2016, I walked into HBG for the first time.
