Putting together some uniform references for the 1949 project. Negro League stuff is just hard to come by, at least for photos, that late in the league's run.

It's such a nice look. The class itself is Alternative Processes in Photo, so we've been making our way through a few different thing.

I really wanted to best replicate the appearance of those 1800s/early 1900s plates.

Also want to note that even post-exposure and process, the glass and image are still translucent.

The surface had to be cleaned and spray painted before applying the emulsion. I chose a clear coat. Visually, it rules.

The concept of the project was essentially tintypes, but my professor wanted us to try and print on something other than aluminum. I chose glass.

This is by far the coolest thing I've ever produced. Art rules. Can't wait to do more.

My professor is actually giving us a demo on shirt printing tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to go grab some to print on, but we will see what's up 👀
