Profoundly boring. I mostly just wanted a place to share my musings about basketball (and occasionally other things).

I. You. They. We. Us.
Fox is playing out of his mind tonight. It’s good to see him in a winning situation with a lot of upside.

The Kings have a history of holding good players hostage.

That half season of Cousins in NO was very exciting and the closest that I’ve ever come to becoming a legit Pels fan.

It’s said that football is a game of inches, will basketball is a game of margins. The difference between winning and losing could be a few percentage points. The Spurs just look 1-2% better in every phase of the game. OKC are playing their game, but the Spurs are just a little bit better.

Maaaaan, the Thunder cannot buy a three since the first quarter.

I don’t know why I never made this connection before, but Tony Brothers, and Neil deGrasse Tyson look a lot alike.

Alex Caruso: Professional Basketball Player

That Caruso has competently guarded both De’Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama in this game is pretty incredible.

Perhaps I’m just old, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to the amount of jump passing that happens in the league nowadays. It’s drilled into my mind that jump passing is a cardinal sin.

Through the third quarter, that’s under a still generating great looks, they’re just not hitting them.

Williams getting called for the offensive file on the arm extension when Shea does that every third play is hilarious. There is no consistency with these refs sometimes.

Shaq on television looking like a hard-boiled detective with that hat on

Dang, are the Spurs really better than these guys? The Spurs are looking as much better than the thunder as the thunder have looked against other people this season. The second half still to come, but this is shocking to see this a third game in a row.

It looks like Wemby is about to break his leg on every other block attempt. His body is like 90% limbs, so every time he hits the ground, some part of him is at an awkward angle.

On the opposite end of the height spectrum, Isaiah Thomas a few years ago was one of those guys who would cook you and then make sure that he made eye contact with you after he cooked you so that you knew that he knew that you knew he cooked you; Wemby has a similar disposition.

These two defenses allowing 77 points in the first quarter is definitely unexpected. A series between these two teams would absolutely do numbers.
December 26, 2025 at 1:23 AM
Wemby yelling hell yeah when Chet misses the free throw is exactly the energy that the NBA has to want out of these two guys. The big problem that I can foresee with the league trying to create a rivalry between these two is a Chet is nowhere close to the talent that Wemby is.

I’m glad that they called that shove by SGA on Wemby. SGA is shoving guys in transition pretty regularly and it never gets called.

I don’t know where Alex Caruso ranks amongst the best on all defenders ever, but he’s higher then he should be based purely on his physical attributes. He is very much a testament to the value of a hard work.

The Lakers, more or less, lost this game in the first 10 minutes.
December 21, 2025 at 11:58 PM
Fun fact: LeBron and Bronny have played together for a grand total of 12 minutes.
December 21, 2025 at 11:58 PM
The Clippers are generating a lot of open threes, but the Lakers are playing pretty good defense. Both clauses of that sentence are true.

Luka with another soft tissue injury? Say it ain’t so.

Without Luka (who himself wasn’t playing great), the Lakers have no shot. LeBron does cook in these Clippers games usually though.
