Seems like those people might consider a class action for fraud against this insurer. In a rational world at a minimum this ought to trigger a review by licensing authorities . But oh, government now days isn't about action, its all performative. Regulation is a dirty word and so is doing real work

I never understood where Alan Dershowitz fit into the pantheon of the OJ lawyers. But his Harvard connection didn't teach him much about criminal law at the level it gets practices. What a dumbass to say such things in writing to the prosecutor.

that usually happens in reverse is my experience. when the crooks are following the travels of the cops. happens with RICO investigations. But for the government to follow the reporter is definitely ethically wrong. That indeed should be followed up by a Congressional Committee.

Modern day corruption in plain site. Where is all this cash going?

Dumb idea. Opens car companies to more litigation about unsafe vehicles. Serious Plaintiffs will fund their own crash tests with large groups of victims. The government sets the standard now and that's a bit of a defense for automakers.

Legal shakedown. Avoided Trump's deposition. That would have featured Trump being asked about his reputation and the collection of his accusers publically known or silenced by payoff settlements.

Agree. The political law of gravity still applies to Trump. Incompetent appointees bring down political leaders in time. MAGA nation can not change the laws of gravity. In time MAGA will crash and burn🔥 because of ignorance and incompetence.

What they really hope to accomplish is changing the rules about disobeying and unlawful order. The Trump people fear the US Military and its possible check on MAGA fever dreams.

Why does Trump need tens of millions of dollars for his swearing in ceremony? That is a better place for the NYT to begin its quest for the truth. That takes to why Tech Bros need to give away money to a criminal.

Pathetic. What he has accomplished is encouraging criminals across the nation to tangle up the legal system.

Time magazine ought be ashamed of itself

This is a wild study. Not sure what to make of it

Interesting observation. Perhaps the view of white intellectuals is not well informed by our history of counting black people as fractions of a person? I suspect there is no intentional effort by this author to diminish black people. uncivilized behavior involving guns has been around a long time.

This is how they shake down the vanquished. Trump's prior innaguation expenses was largely secret. Where, oh, where is all this secret slush fund money going?

They have consistently undermined the Democrats and working people in America. Both are bought and paid for by lobbyists. Good riddance to both of these Senators

When the doors of the courthouse in America are closed to ordinary people to resolve their disputes, then citizens will look elsewhere to see redress. Unfortunately, in a nation armed to the teeth, violence is an easy alternative. Teaching non-violence must include civil society alternatives.

Why is the federal government prosecuting this crime? The penalties in Michigan State courts are so much higher?

The feds should focus their small band of prosecutors on larger white collar crimes, leaving these cases to very able locals. This prosecution, in politician speak, is performance art.
