I think I've encountered my first textools demon. instead of a normal hair texture there is a cloth and face texture. when you import the packed mod its in there. grouped correctly and everything. and yet it displays perfectly fine like it is a normal hair texture

other ancients seeing wol as just a familiar and confiding in them because of that makes me hurt about hermes more because to other ancients we are essentially a therapy animal. but for hermes, someone who saw creations as equals in life, was genuine in his relationship with wol
I'm so mad I read some opinions abt hermes tht were like "He's not the only one that's sad!! Do the side quests!! He chose to be sad and alone!!"

other ancients seeing wol as just a familiar and confiding in them because of that makes me hurt about hermes more because to other ancients we are essentially a therapy animal. but for hermes, someone who saw creations as equals in life, was genuine in his relationship with wol
2:30pm and I have learned that texture pathing is the easy part and the hard part is rigging and weight painting. I have yet to make my own working mashup. on the bright side porting hairstyles is the easiest thing ever now
not even 10am and I am slowly driving myself to insanity trying to figure out how to make mashup hair textures work on my own without a guide (I am a fool and am now looking up a guide)

honestly also speaks volumes I accidentally used the wrong set of scales to do that and the idea of doing it all again to see which one I prefer isn't filling me with dread. I am like yayyy I get to see how much easier it is to do a second time now that I Get It

just wanted to drop a huge thanks @reverse-cascade.etheirys.social for the good horns, AND making such an in-depth and easy to follow tutorial so I can still use masks with them! taught me some very useful textools/blender essentials in the process as well. thank you so much! ♡

I think more than anything the reason I really like playing m!au ra is that wrt mods there are a lot of different pieces to play with and figure out what works. its like it turns making your oc look cool into a fun puzzle for you to solve

vanilla: was illiterate until he arrived in eorzea. he had to sheepishly ask miounne to write his name in the adventurer's guild ledger, and dedicated himself to learning at least the basics if only to spare himself that "indignity" again (guy who hates asking for help)
#wolqotd So!, about half of Eorzea is able to read or write, can your WOL/OC do so and if they can HOW do they write their name

honestly, I would have a different main entirely. a lot of vanilla's charm for me is in the androgyny that comes with mviera, and we didn't have anything all that close to it before.
if I had to pick, though? probably tmasc elezen. severely underrated combo and fits his vibes the best

in reality it's also kind of funny to me that the blurb for the qalli mostly mentions "attaching a melody to their words" like spending time in the qalli tribe is just. being surrounded by theater kids that won't stop singing their feelings.

I keep juggling ideas for my qalli wol around... I definitely want to lean into them not being the traditional cheerful, flamboyant bard type. while still having music basically be a sixth sense for them because of their upbringing

I also always appreciate people that actually size hairstyles to the m au ra head properly because its proportions are a nightmare. I have seen ports give them both a 6head and a nohead because it is SUCH a weird shape to work with
