Day 6 was very chill, we slept in, had a chance to just walk around Osaka, peruse a cute book store and eat delicious local food!

Hanging out with my girl Birdie!

Day 5: was a trip to the awe inspiring Bamboo Forrest, including a scenic train ride through the countryside. Later we participated in a tea ceremony where we wore traditional clothing (I felt so beautiful I could’ve cried). Finally we went shopping and made our own perfume!

Today my friends and I participated in a traditional tea ceremony! It was one of my favorite experiences so far and all my friends looked amazing! 💜😊

Day 4 was our trip to Nara to see the dazzling Todai-ji Daibutsuden which houses the Great Buddha! The best part is the deer that roam the entire park, they were all so adorable and I swear half the pics I have from today are just the deer!

Oh and I made this wish here. 💜🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Day 3 had us visiting Osaka Castle, a night trip to Dotonbori for the Halloween festivities and the best bowl of ramen I’ve ever had in my life at Ichiran-Ramen! Simply another incredible day on this adventure!

Happy Halloween my friends! This lucky ensign somehow transported to Japan on 2023… an oddly specific time lol.

Day 2 was Universal Studios Japan! Super Nintendo World is incredible (I did my best Super Mario 64 painting jump) and my personal favorite was the Biohazard 2 (aka RE:2 Remake) haunt! What a day!

Here’s some extra photos! The giant robot was a big screen promoting the Pluto anime on Netflix (the sound was awesome)! The Nintendo store, One Piece shop and Pokémon Center we’re super cool!

Day 1 was amazing! I loved walking through the streets, exploring the stores, trying the delicious food and just taking in the atmosphere! Japan is incredible!

We made it to Tokyo! Now just a bullet train ride away from our Airbnb!

I don’t want to say much as this is a unique experience that I implore y’all check out if you haven’t yet. Shin'ichirô Ueda made a film that is thrilling, sharply funny and it left a huge smile across my face. Movies like this only come around every once in awhile so please if 🧵

I really couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up our horror movie marathon than by watching One Cut of the Dead… what a absolutely delightful movie this is! Brilliant acting, a hilarious script and it showcases how amazing it is to make art (no matter how messy it gets). 🧵

favorite of mine but even with those gross flaws in mind, I still found this to be a rip roaring adventure film that left me speechless multiple times.

villain and Armstrong brings such confidence, swagger and manipulation to the role... he’s incredible. Now I’d love to say how timeless the film is but… oh boy. The film is undeniably racist, misogynistic and problematic which holds it back from being an all time🧵
October 26, 2023 at 7:10 AM
a film like this must have been a Herculean task. The incredible work they put in along with multiple cinematographer’s, composer Max Steiner and countless others can be felt in every single frame. I also adore Robert Armstrong’s performance, Carl Denham is a brilliant 🧵

world in terms of details and genuine personality. I have nothing but utter respect for O’Brien and the work he gifted any and all who watch this movie. In that sense Merian C. Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack deserve a lot of praise for their directorial work, putting together 🧵

King Kong (1933) is a showstopper as a technical piece of filmmaking. Willis H. O'Brien is the hero of this picture as he crafted such wonderful effects that changed the film industry and the world. His work on Kong and the various monsters of Skull Island are out of this 🧵

I don’t think this is going to be for everyone and I still feel like I have to grapple with the themes of toxic masculinity, but I was really into this movie!

Oh and editors Patrick Nelson Barnes & R. Brett Thomas deserve all the praise, their work is outstanding!

this film is gorgeously shot by Natalie Kingston who captures the winter setting beautifully. Plus the score by Ben Lovett (who has worked with one of my favorite horror directors David Bruckner on nearly every film of his) produced awesome and unsettling music throughout. 🧵

uncomfortable but that adds to the pitch black humor in a way where you either laugh out loud or cringe in your seat. It’s also great to see the amazing Robert Forster, he is great as always and this is a helluva final film for him (RIP). Besides the performances and the comedy🧵

dark psychological horror comedy, a combo of words I never expected to type out. I had a great time with it and a large part of that is writer/director/star Jim Cummings committed performance as a man on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Watching him come undone is 🧵

The Wolf of Snow Hollow is a film that took me by total surprise. It’s a sharp, hilarious horror flick that takes a rather straightforward premise and goes wild with the plot and editing… and I say this as a compliment. I haven’t seen a movie told like this but I see it as a 🧵
