Wandering around one of my old haunts in Scarborough, the town I grew up in. I lived in this area in 1999, and spent much time exploring these trails. In spring of that year, I had my first and only encounter with American goshawks. Unfortunately, that pair was driven out by urban sprawl.

The smoke from the wildfires in Canada has been making the light in my area an eerie shade of pink for several days. On Sunday evening the sun looked particularly ominous behind the filter of smoke, and I captured this image of it near the Kennebec River in Dresden, Maine.
