A coronavirus lab looking for low hanging pebbles and shiny fruit.

Emory University
Feels like everything has moved slow since restarting here at Emory last year, but glad to have been nominated by my new peers and selected for this recognition.

Really interesting talk from @harmitmalik.bsky.social on alpha virus evolution and the opal codon.

A little rusty and just barely got #bingo. Need to get back to it.

It these trying time, we need to lean on what we do best.

For me, that means #bingo for MMG seminar with @harmitmalik.bsky.social

A good speaker to start this back up at Emory.

Nice to find ourselves on the Clarivate list of #highlycited2024 researchers.

Always nice to be recognized but also feels like a #humblebrag & nod to importance of metrics in modern academic science.

Thought ChatGPT summed it up well for me

A nice summary from Nadine at Novartis #astmh2024 on our partnership to develop next generation antivirals for corona, henipa, & flaviviruses.

Pandemic prep is more than just shelf ready drugs. It’s building a public-private infrastructure to leverage the best of each to respond to the outbreaks.

Have been thinking about COVID seasonality cause of this @helenbranswell.bsky.social article tinyurl.com/2xnaueay

While we have clear winter peaks (red lines), there is a trend for a late summer peak (green line) in the US. There are many reasons for this, but not seeming traditional "seasonality".
