So I volunteered here literally last week and was exposed. Filled out the state health department form and everything. No symptoms right now but that lovely cheetah that died was such a sweetie 😔 ugh

#LosAngeles is experiencing a significant spike in #H5N1 levels in wastewater, surpassing what we typically see with seasonal flu.

Human cases are being reported statewide, but with such elevated wastewater levels, the question remains: where are the hospitalizations?

Looking at the average CFR reported by each country for #H5N1, the mean sits at ~40%, with a 95% confidence interval of 25-55%.

@who.int calculate the total CFR to be 49%.
