I thought Nico would be around forever because now all the anger and vitriol (all of it fully justified) will be pointed at Dumont. Who said he signed off on the Luka trade, supported it, and justified it as a sign of smart, tough leadership. Now the target is on his back, and his alone.

There might be a skillset these brilliant coordinators don't have to succeed as a head coach. Look at Josh McDaniels or Steve Spagnuolo--superstar coordinators, but neither succeeded as a HC.
Then again most head coaches fail, and if you can get Brian Flores running your defense, make it happen.
