As many bulb crates as I could fit in my car (for $2 each off marketplace). They're in constant use in my nusery, from transporting plants to protecting them from wildlife.

I like to think I'm doing what the plants do, packing up and breaking down their chlorophyl before tossing out the old leaves and hunkering down for winter. In spring, opening up their windows (leaf buds) to welcome the sun.

I've heard those referred to as tautological names.
Milky Way Galaxy (galaxy means milky)

My favorite botanical one is Arctostaphylos uva-ursi

Arctostaphylos = bear grapes in Greek
uva-ursi = bear grapes in Latin

So you could call it the bearberry bearberry, or as I call it bear bear berry berry

The hardest part was the initial diagnosis and coming to terms with that, and then when it was finally time to say good bye. It's almost like they die twice... which is weird because we all know that they won't be around forever. I guess it's knowing it'll be sooner than expected. Then you just wait

It's tough when a beloved pet is ill. Our dog (who passed in 2023) was diagnosed with DCM in 2020. He was on heart medication for the next three years. The hardest part was limiting his activity, considering he was a Boston Terrier, which are ADHD dogs (no wonder I had one as a pet).

I was just going to say, they already do have to reapply for them on a regular basis.

I am a supporter of nuclear energy personally. Even with the few catastrophic events surrounding it, the total loss of life/harm is far less than that of combustion energy, and it is far more efficient. It's worth considering the mass anti-nuclear propaganda by the other energy powers.

Make sure the purple milkweed soil is well-drained. I know a nursery that cultivates it, and they actually just grow their stock in grow bags (the felt ones often used to grow trees). I have some planted, but I recently planted a few others in grow bags myself since they have success with it.

It's full sun after the neighbor clear-cut the trees in their yard on the southern side 3 years ago. 2 years ago I cleared out the path and it started sowing itself in. Should be completely filled in within a year or two I think.

Carex are fun. I've gotten into collecting all the various species myself. So far, Carex fraseriana may be my among my favorite as far as unusual ones go.
I think Carex albicans is far better suited for an alternative lawn than Carex pensylvanica. Photo of one of my woodland paths - full sun & dry

Asclepias purpurascens is a tough one, but not impossible. It just needs very well drained soil, similar to Baptisia australis.

Any serviceberry in particular?

Exception for fire ecology. Woth that, we need to burn more stuff.

no, and never will be

Ps, I do not store them in the freezer. This is just to kill off any weevils present before storing. After 1-2 weeks, I will move them to the fridge. They have been drying in a brown paper bag for nearly two months. Do not freeze freshly collected, damp seeds to avoid risk of damaging them.
