A chronically depressed 29-year old retro gaming nerd with legitimately zero social skills and no future, stuck in Russia forever. No friends left IRL, too uncomfortable to chat with strangers online. Have never felt any sense of agency over own life.
Shout out to Tim, everyone's favorite Pac-Man ghost.

But is it as hard as the soundtrack to Super Drift Out, a game which has a dedicated option setting to switch between "Normal" and "Hard" BGM?

I like the music in Joe Montana Football for Sega Genesis, but unfortunately the composers in that game are uncredited. Turns out that the IBM PC (DOS) version of the game uses the same music compositions and composers are actually credited right on the title screen along with other developers.

Great art, but I'd like to point out that the spaceship sprite in Tetris is most likely based on a Soviet Buran-class spacecraft, not an American Space Shuttle. They have very different side booster rockets. Buran fits better with the Russian theme of Tetris as well.

Apple // Bejeweled (2016) is the real deal. Plays really good on an old computer platform with game rules faithful to the original. #AppleII

This is Sergio of the Napoli Angels baseball team. Everything his bat touches turns into a home run. The real MVP.

Hotel Mario for Philips CD-i is actually a pretty decent game, despite the infamy surrounding it and the whole CD-i ecosystem, but from time to time it just stuns you with some absolute nonsense like this:

I hope that some day game roms used by MAME for Sega's 1988 Tetris arcade game get redumped, so that the missing background tiles issue visible in one particular stage can be resolved. The missing tiles are only relevant to set 3 and set 4 variants of the game running on System 16A hardware.

Ms. Candyman (1983) for [Bally] Astrocade is honestly one of the coolest little games I've seen, yet it is completely unknown to 99% of retro gamers. Fast action, unique enemy graphics, funny death animations, constant color changes, etc. It is very polished, despite being an indie game of its era.

Did you know that Paul Romero, the acclaimed composer behind the music of Heroes of Might & Magic game series, had previously performed music on the infamous "The Flowers of Robert Mapplethorpe" compact disc for the Philips CD-i?

Getting a bit tired of this screen after several years. For some games I genuinely don't want to pirate them out of respect for developers.

Okay, who was responsible for localizing Little Deviants for PlayStation Vita into Russian and chose to rename the game "Pocket Mental Asylum"?

There's nothing perfect in this world, except for the KW-triO 307A mechanical pencil sharpener. You can always rely on it to support you in the most crucial moments.

Neo Geo CD loading is something else. I've recently played OverTop, a simple top-down racing game from 1996. The whole game is just a single race which takes around 6 minutes in total.
On CD it has to load each individual track section, meaning that you get a loading screen every 20-40 seconds.

My first game beaten in 2025 is Spin Pair for PC Engine from 1990. An interesting little take on the falling block genre, even though it is on the easier side. Feels more like a relative of Hatris rather than Puyo Puyo (not yet released at that point).

Got a book smuggled over the iron curtain by a close friend abroad. Time to finally learn whatever I was doing when submitting pull requests to MiSTer FPGA repositories a few months ago.

I've decided to check out Maniac Mansion Deluxe through ScummVM and I saw a well known name in the opening credits. Had no idea that Neil Cicierega was involved with Adventure Game Studio community.

Hey, Electronic Arts, do you like money? I have a suggestion for you. How about you port Boom Blox and Boom Blox Bash Party from Nintendo Wii to modern platforms?
