Two men who know fuck all about science acting like authorities about science. Cool cool cool
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

@natemosersports.bsky.social and I had a conversation the other day about what qualifies a cryptid to be a cryptid rather than a creature of folklore, and tbh neither of us were sure where that line is drawn or if there even is one. Thoughts? #cryptids #folklore

Normally I hate dishes but I enjoy washing my milk frother wand because it’s basically just the same thing as making frothed milk, but with soapy water instead of milk 😂

Thank you for telling me that if I resort my spreadsheet it will affect other user currently editing it, google sheets. The other user currently editing it is also me. On a different computer. 😂

Every time I get a new lanyard for work it breaks in like, six months. This is not sustainable

Tell me, would you find it appropriate to tell someone who was helping you that they have a "big finger" when they pointed to something? Or would you keep that shit to yourself because that's an inside thought?

I don't know why a function to quickly edit case wouldn't be standard with word processing software, but apparently it's considered an extension in google sheets

My library is lucky enough to have a Silhouette machine, and when I use it on my desk it tilts a little bc my desk is in two parts that aren't quite level. What I'm trying to say is today I spent twenty minutes making a thing out of craft sticks to stick under the machine to stop it cutting weird

The final product of lamination is so satisfying but sitting and waiting for each sheet to go through is like watching paint dry

Seeing Noah Kahan with his French braids I now have an urgent need to see Hozier with HIS hair in French braids

I know I’m so late on the Noah Kahan love but in my defense I think I needed it to be October for me to really appreciate it (yes I know he’s been big for a few years, hush)

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

The thing that really never fails to piss me off about AI is that it's assumed I want to use it. I would much rather do shit the "analog" way but every website just thinks "well obviously they would much rather use AI, that's the default now"

But like... why?
The Trump admin has announced sweeping measures to expand coal production on public lands. It intends to open 13.1 million acres of public land for coal leasing, significantly loosen the royalty rates that mining companies pay, and allocate large sums toward existing coal-fired power plants.

Why do headlines say "norms shattered" when what is meant is "laws broken" or "Constitution violated"?

Technically I'm bilingual, but really what that means is that the moment someone speaks to me in French I immediately forget every verb I know

I love when I'm looking through a digital scan of an old book and I see someone's hands in the image. Both because it's a little silly and also because it shows the human effort that goes into creating digital media sometimes

Translation: a city with a Black majority is gonna get terrorized by a racist felon
President Trump announced Memphis will be the next target of a National Guard deployment to fight crime.

Memphis has historically experienced a high crime rate, though like other major cities, it has seen a drop in crime in recent years.
Trump announces National Guard will be deployed in Memphis to fight crime
During a television interview, the president said that the Tennessee city is “deeply troubled.” The move follows similar use of the Guard in D.C.
