Their hatred of the sixties and women and freedom has no border xsd

My favourite Likky story is the dressing down she gave Mike for wearing a tank top in the early 70’s. The tank top as the ultimate sellout to everything we had hoped the future may hold. She was right. The managers wrong. xsd

By this time I was writing to them & in the second post here you can see the reply I got from my last letter to them. “Just to let you know the band will be away until the beginning of September.” Possibly the trip the new managers told Robin they didn’t want his songs on the album & he left.

They are the band I love most. The last time we saw them play when I was 13 or 14 we were allowed backstage, into the dressing room seen in Don’t Look Back, where I got autographs on the back of a Golden Eagle flyer.

… at Birmingham Town Hall with my brother and parents. I was 9 and it was my first gig. It still informs and illuminates my everyday. They were never for everybody but if they’d gone on and done an acoustic set at Woodstock in the rain they might be as well known as Canned Heat.

The Fall's support acts were Pure Morning (before they became Clinic) and I, Ludicrous.
On this day 30 years ago it was (Stephen) Duffy headlining, and coincidentally @thelilactime.bsky.social's first live album is released today on @needlemythology.bsky.social. Recorded in 2007, it's wonderful

First band I ever saw, Birmingham Town Hall 1969. Changed my life and only a few bands have come close to meaning more xsd

When the car breaks down and the next car to pass is driven by Wim. Better than the RAC.
