🚀 Apple Music is now the main streaming home for my music since removing most of my work from Spotify - but my audience there is only small. If you love atmospheric, conceptual instrumentals, come and experience The Light Dreams!

Work on the layout of INSIDE OUTSIDE has begun. Still got work to do on the writing, but it's nice to get the more visual side moving in tandem.

The postcard prints are excellent!

Convention flashback! I thoroughly enjoyed exhibiting my science fiction art at conventions between 2012 and 2019. I never thought I would find myself in a position where my work was on show and people actually wanted to buy it!

Today's exciting delivery: a few postcard prints of gorgeous classic science fiction film artwork by the brilliant @barnabyedwards.bsky.social - taken from his new exhibition, 'Brave New Worlds' at the Exeter Picturehouse.

Despite the influx of new Doctor Who books, Evolution of the Toy Dalek remains unique in that it's the first comprehensive book solely dedicated to Dalek merchandising, covering six decades, and over 300, mostly original photographs.

Work is progressing nicely on my next book project, which will be a dissection of David Bowie’s 1995 masterpiece, 1.Outside. Stay tuned for updates...

A lot of people still prefer to buy physical items. Much of my creative work this year has been about just that with the publication of two comprehensive and lovingly designed books aimed at the Doctor Who community and a new album of atmospheric electronic music. Next project is already under way!

Hopefully the folk at ElasticStage won't mind me borrowing the lovely CD animation from their website - seeing this brilliant render of the product was a joy and the end result looks just as good - with added physicality! #electronicmusic

The Blackpool Remembered logo was inspired by the classic diamond-shaped Doctor Who logo of the 1970s. We tried a diamond-shaped version but it didn't sit right as a title - the typography itself was bold, said "Doctor Who" and also had a fairground feel.

This was in fact, a reverse image of the illustration I produced for the original ebook version (which now serves as the cover page).

Blackpool Remembered cover art: this could have easily been a photographic cover, but I decided to do an illustration that connected to that childhood experience, but that captures the colours and mystery of the exhibition as you entered the console room.

There are, of course, plenty of Daleks pictured inside. Over 300 photos in fact, most of which were purpose-taken!

The blue 'Dalek' typography is based on the memorable design of Palitoy's 1970s talking Dalek box art.

Evolution of the Toy Dalek cover design: due to rights issues around showing an image of a full Dalek, we decided an invasion of the iconic plunger arms and claws - photographed from the toys - was a fun way forward that still told you what it was all about.
