I went outside to look for Gobblekins, but instead met Possum of the Night!
He did not notice me until he’d had a nice, long drink.
(Gobblekins came back later!)
Large possum drinks out of a small white dish. The dish is on the concrete patio. The possum is on the lawn. There are so many fallen pecan leaves it is hard to tell where the lawn ends and the patio begins, even if I ever edged the lawn. We can see the possum’s pink tongue lapping up water. He looks very worried, possibly by the pecan leaf in the water bowl.

Sibling said hardboard is the Wheetabix of the wood world & I have not been able to stop laughing!

(Because it falls apart when wet, NOT because it is a tasty breakfast!)

Gobblekins just attempted to climb the pecan tree?!?
Not pictured, because thankfully the attempt was brief!
I recently cut off lots of lower branches so I’m not sure how she’d get back down!
She got about 4 feet up before she realized it might not be the best idea!

Gobblekins is Cat of the Day today!
She needed LOTS (like, 30+minutes) of pettings & snuggling up next to The Feet today because she is stressed out from Leaf-Ageddon (aka.: FALL) and also an unfixed boy kitty keeps visiting her patio!🙀

I do not understand why anyone (even people with universal healthcare) would choose to have their baby hospitalized for RSV over getting their baby vaccinated.
Hurray for Denmark for having universal healthcare, but DANG, it just seems wasteful & cruel to let babies, children, & the elderly suffer.
Denmark has made a values choice to accept preventable hospitalizations and illnesses that other countries, including those with universal health care, have chosen to prevent. Danish infants are still hospitalized with RSV. Danish children still get rotavirus gastroenteritis. Danish adolescents can still develop meningococcal sepsis. Their health care system handles these cases well, but the cases still happen.

Cat of the Day loves her fishie!
She is also made of floof!

Even though this picture is not from today, Gobblekins still wins Cat of the Day because she hates Fall. Specifically, she hates leaves falling on her!
All the leaves are falling off the pecan tree & onto the patio, so she is spending a lot of time inside her box house!

Gobblekins was very annoyed he was in her yard, & her tail puffed up like a bottlebrush, but thankfully there was no fighting!

Adult green anole - I think male - sticks just his head out from behind a sansevieria leaf to look at us with deep suspicion. I think it is a boy because his nose looks longer, and boy green anoles usually have longer noses than girl green anoles.

Beautiful adult green anole, nose down on a sansevieria leaf, looks at us with deep suspicion! I got close enough we can see the scales on its face! Not sure if it is a boy or girl. It is in brown mode, but the skin around its eye is green and teal.

Hurray! Today I saw a Green Anole!
Lizard of the Day was very happy with the high twig!
I took this picture through the window because I did not want to disturb Gobblekins’ nap.
And o also saw a toad!

I saw a green anole today!

But she was too fast for me to take a picture, so Lizard of the Day is this brown anole I photographed through the window!
I tried to go out & take a picture of him, but he did not want me that close & left!
Adult male brown anole on a dead branch about the same color as him with his back to us. His camouflage is impressive! Same lizard turns his head to look over his shoulder at us.

It has been hard to get pictures of her lately because it’s been so dreary! She spends most of her time in her cozy box! (Left)
But today she got to sit in the sunshine for a little bit! (Right)

Cat wins Cat of the Day THREE days in a row because tonight I managed to get some exceptionally cute pictures while she was playing!

Her goal is to knock it out of my hand so I will pick it back up and let her whack it out of my hand again. She has taught me to play fetch.

Cat of the Day has been an indoor-only cat for so long she does not even care it is raining outside!
I think the loud thunderclap earlier startled her, but she has forgotten about it now!
