I'm really excited to share this!

Yashie Mae narrated a whole bundle of my stories. Chilling tales about post-apocalyptic queens, buried secrets, devilish visitors, and a heavenly new street drug. Check it out and show them some love

It's weird, I love horror. I write horror stories. But I don't find myself revisiting many horror films, even if I really enjoy them. None of my most frequent rewatches are scary movies

Sharing my first story was scarier than the story itself. It might be the scariest thing I've ever done, but it was the start of this amazing creative journey. I reminisce about that experience and my first story in a new blog post

Strange Harvest (2024)
8.5/10

The story is compelling, even if a lot is left shrouded in mystery. It's a must watch if you're into mockumentary horror movies like Lake Mungo. It's a better version of The Poughkeepsie Tapes, with a bend towards esoteric occult practices.

Fun fact about this story, Buddy is named after my cat. And just like my cat, Buddy is a good boy who would never do anything bad

This little guy was a stray not that long ago. Now he's spoiled with his little bed and little mouse

I don't know how The Chair Company can cram so much absurdity into 30 minutes. It's like a fever dream, just bouncing from one insane line to the next

Writing is very silly. You make up a little guy, and then you're like "hey bud, this spider creature is gonna mess up your whole day"

I had garlic knots for the first time this week and now they're all I can think about

Listening to deer noises was a very important part of the writing process, I swear. New blog post looking back at the time I wrote a story about a hunter, despite knowing next to nothing about hunting.

Thanksgiving (2023)
5.5/10

I spent most of the movie trying to figure out how serious it was trying to be. Honestly, I'm still not sure. Mostly, it's a generic slasher that feels pretty dated. I don't hate it, but I'm probably going to forget about it before long

It's my birthday.

I'm proud of the year I've had. I've written more than ever. I put my work out there for the first time, and the response has been incredible. It's been a big year.

Thought I was stuck in a time loop. Turns out it was just tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow creeping in this petty pace from day to day

Halloween might end, but you can stay spooky for as long as you want. Nobody can stop you from having a spooky Thanksgiving. Keep the decorations up and have a spooky little Christmas. Spooky isn't a season, it's a feeling

Listen to your heart and stay spooky

It's finally here!

The SpinalTap Horror Hallow's Eve special which features my story "The Grave of Molly C." Such a fun collection of spooky stories narrated by the very talented Ryan Blue

The Chair Company is perfectly absurd. Tim Robinson has such a way of crafting social interactions that feel both deeply human and absolutely alien.

Really excited for this to be part of SpinalTap Horror's upcoming Halloween special. It's always such a treat to hear my stories read by such a talented narrator

Welcome to Derry is really good so far. I thought it sounded kinda silly, but they hit it out of the park with the first episode. They're not pulling any punches

Lake Mungo (2008)
8/10

It's really good, but not very scary. Feels very realistic, just like any supposed haunting case you might hear about. It nails the mockumentary format. Very natural performances. I did expect it to be scarier, but I'm not really disappointed.

I don't often have good dreams, which is fine. I just wish my bad dreams were more interesting. I could use them for my stories

New blog post talking about the stories that were the hardest to write. What problems I had, how I fixed them. Writing is fun, but it sure is a lot of work. Sometimes you don't finish a story until you're absolutely sick of looking at it.

This was probably the most fun I've had writing a story. It was a chance to be more poetic than usual while still being dark and spooky. I got to play around with words a whole lot, which is always a nice treat

I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)
4/10

The characters aren't really interesting or likeable. The story is pretty cookie cutter. Even the kills are fairly bland. A pointless legacy sequel that not even Buffy herself could make worthwhile

The Long Walk (2025)
9/10

Just a dreadful crawl towards inevitability. There are no "ifs" only "whens." This movie breaks you down. Really solid performances all around. It's a must watch, if you don't mind spending two hours with a crushing sense of dread.
