What You Know About Me

A lady in the streets, a geek in the streets…

If the streets were equal parts shenanigans, cocktails, and books…

If you’ve made it this far, bless you. Let’s see how long I stick around these streets.
I’m so tired of being insulted by producers in this city. They love the spectacle of Black bodies, but can’t seem to remember them when casting their top billing. Or rather, they can only remember the ones they’re told are appropriate to book. I wonder why. Not. #FuckYouVeryMuch

Rules for thee but not for me...
Republicans holler like a hit dog when anyone talks about enforcing donor disclosure on the billionaires buying elections, but when it comes to doxing civil servants whose only offense is doing their job, they're cool as a cucumber
GOP privacy hawks brush off concerns about DOGE data dives
Republicans who have spent years railing against government intrusion on Americans' privacy are defending the latest DOGE efforts to access IRS data.

This is Ivy. She is full of rage. Just because she can fit in your pocket doesn't mean you can let your guard down. Stay vigilant. 12/10

The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned.

Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.

Texas Republicans keep saying vouchers are to help low income families, but just blocked an amendment that would have kept families with a $160k household income from being prioritized #txlege

This. This. This. The chaos is the point. Stop complying in advance and protect each other.
Trump acting like he is the CEO of the U.S. doesn’t mean he is. He literally is not allowed to do much of what he is declaring. He is neither the CEO nor king. Do not comply in advance.

Last week I chatted about Nosferatu with a friend like you do. Now I’m unable to erase my brain after hearing this: “You know that final scene with him draining Ellen just looks like a cat trying to throw up.”

The right is attacking Selena Gomez to make people afraid of speaking out. It’s a well-coordinated attack using the vast digi infrastructure they’ve built. And it will unfortunately work to keep many people with platforms quiet.

Engage with the posts of people who speak out anyway

I’m not a huge fan of horror movies, but vampires are usually the exception. Saw Nosferatu yesterday and I kept flipping between stifling screams at the jump scares and not getting too sucked into the cinematography (because so many of those shots were ‘GUH’).

This might become an annual rewatch…
