Real talk, I want a TiMER AU for HR so bad. Like.
Shane doesn't have one - his mom discouraged it when he was younger, and now that he's old enough to get one without parental permission, he isn't going to risk it outing him in public. He might get one later, someday in the future, after hockey.

He gets a text from Ilya Rozanov inviting him to come over the day before their afternoon game in Boston rather than missing out because both teams will fly out after the game to their next destinations.

He goes to Worlds and loses to Sweden and then goes to the World Cup where he wins against Russia and he waits with baited breath to find out if the new CBA will include Olympic attendance in 2018. He signs a contract extension that will pay him through the 2020 season.

Things mostly don't change, anyway. He plays hockey--he wins not one, but two Cups--he trains, he fucks around with Ilya Rozanov. He spends his summers at his cottage and his hockey seasons in Montreal, he gets selected for the ASG and league MVP and the Sports Illustrated Body Issue.

He goes home and orders a new wrist cover, one that can't be as easily removed as the one he's worn for years and which promises that it can withstand scanners. It looks basically identical to the one he has. No need for anyone to know that anything has changed.

Shane isn't sure that's actually scientifically sound logic, but he is too flummoxed to try to argue or even explain why his TiMER has to be wrong. He lets the clinician escort him out, and wish him luck on the upcoming season, though he declines to take photos with any of the staff.
