"Hard" i had heard; "brittle" i had not. It sounds like a N. American version of Wenge. Beautiful striations & hard as nails, but pitted & prone to fractures & splintering. Also poisonous. Painfully hard to cut w/o destroying it, worse to sand.

Made a box for a satellite receiver out of it.

I think this is the thing. It's for removing hair & fur out of carpets, which is a shame because i was hoping it was something you could use on the dog directly.

I've got a special brush but Ms Dog overwhelms it in just a pass or two.

A bright mystical light shines blindingly from the center. A classic doomed by Fate. Great plot, filled with clever jokes and twists, had all the beans to be a blockbuster but never caught that spark. Possibly because Universal Movie Monsters just had no rizz in the Age of Aliens, Predator, and The Terminator. Or maybe they just blew it on the marketing. Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last. It's near-immediate disappearance from the cultural zeitgeist mirrored that of Gremlins and makes you wonder just how many gems out there just slipped through the public's fingers, just waiting to be plucked from the sewers of obscurity and elevated to their rightful place in the Great Temples of Art. Seriously - no joke. Famed writer Jane Austin - she of "Sense & Sensibility" & "Pride & Prejudice"!! - died in total obscurity in 1817. Absolute "Jane Austin who? LOL". It wasn't until her nephew published a book on her life in 1869 & started pounding pavement to sell copies that the public at large began to check her out and liked what they read. And hey - remember a little book called "Moby Dick"? Melville's defining epic died on the shelf as soon as it rolled off the presses. Forgotten, unsold, mortis extremis. It wasn't until author Car Van Doren happened across a solitary copy in a library (New York??) while considering Melville for a biography. Dude had no idea the book even existed. It blew his mind & brought it to public attention and boom - history is made. Austin and Moby Dick only "exist" in our public consciousness because of luck and one person's pluck. Think about it -

Coal Hard Facts -

Coal is expensive to run in powerplants because the furnace has to be kept in constant operation at a minimum level of burn. So even when daily demand drops you still burn tons of fuel waiting for high demand to hit. Gas doesn’t have that issue. Neither does solar or wind ... 🤔
