Working from small color copies of photos: Four watercolor panorama landscapes in 4 hours today as part of a class in Palo Alto. Each is 7.5x22. None is completely finished. They mostly need more darks and some fine tuning but I’m generally happy with results.

Putting a light on democracy!
San Franciscans assembled peacefully across from City Hall rather than listening to the lie-monger in chief!
Drivers are showing their support with their horns.
My favorite sign today

Glad to be among the
Protesters outside Tesla in San Francisco chanting

People Over Profits, Stop the Coup
Many motorists showing their support with their horns as they drive down US101 past the signs and flags and 100’s of people lining the road.

This week’s assignment for 2D Art was to create
a 3 color cut paper artwork. I used a photo of my friend Wendy Rein performing on the outdoor stage at Jacob’s Pillow a while back. I chose to leave some pencil line work rather than overcrowd or unbalance the image with too much heavy foliage. #art

I am proud to share my orchid which is forming buds. This drawing is one of two 4x6 ink drawings for my 2D Art class at City of College of San Francisco.
Spent and hour on it this morning before dance class. Now I’m at Berkeley Rep with my mom for a matinee of “The Thing About Jellyfish”

Yesterday, at a service at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. Episcopal Bishop, Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde, publicly called out Trump asking him to be merciful to LGBTQ & immigrant ppl. In response he wrote nasty posts about her on his socials. Let’s send postcards of support her way. See photo

Good Morning Bluesky
Made a little art this morning. I pledged to make few unnecessary purchases in the first quarter of 2025 (and perhaps beyond). So using existing supplies I am making greeting cards for each recipient, rather the lm purchasing.. This rabbit watercolor is for my friend Evelyn.

Had the privilege of seeing Yang Liping’s Rite of Spring performed by Peacock Contemporary Dance Co from China. It is transcendent. Thanks to @StanfordLive for co-commissioning this work and finally presenting ting this production originally slated for Feb 2022. Worth the wait.

Saw an amazing aerial dance work in progress showing by Megan Lowe and Roel Seeger at Bandaloop in Oakland this evening. Flying so close to the floor, with speed and grace. It was thrilling to be so close to these powerful and skilled artists.

What a great show tonight by countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo and pianist Bryan Wagorn. Singing everything from Handel to Verdi to Glass to Gershwin. Fun encore, a duet from Marriage of Figaro where he sang both the male and female roles twirling to indicate a character change. Delightful!
