I remember when Fairfax here in Australia ditched all the subeditors because the bean counters couldn’t figure out what they did. Then they had to hire them back as contractors at a higher rate. Cos they figured it out in the end. So… yeah. Awkward 😂 ✈️ 💥 🔥

It was three years ago today that the first pics came through from Kyiv, Ukraine as Europe’s next refugee crisis began. These from the Turkish branch of @euronews.com. The surreal moments. The terror. The narrative may have suddenly been changed, but I still remember these first independent pics.
