Everyone in my family gives me antiques because I like old stuff. Most pieces quietly find their way to good homes, but this is one I’ve kept: A foldable, ivory-handled silverware set (from a great-uncle I think?) The blanket isn’t vintage, it’s from Faherty and it’s perfect for couch naps.

The ornate gold frame around the loading bay on the guild heighliner in the 1984 Dune shows how much Lynch and Co. understood the fictional civilization they were portraying. This is how a highly advanced but still feudal galaxy-wide culture would build things.
