And so many monsters of myth and folklore end up relying on the sort of deception predatory mimics use in nature! Crying babies luring you into the woods; a face that at first seems familiar; "oh look, an island/a light/another epitome of safety - let's check it out!"

It's always interesting to think how an animal would actually adapt to hunt us! Being tricked by something we consider "less intelligent" is always a fun take on that :)
