Statue of Dainichi Nyorai, the Great Sun Buddha, made in 1176 by Unkei. Earlier this year we went to Enjoji temple near Nara to see this statue and hike the Yagyu Kaido trail. Unfortunately, the statue had been removed for an exhibition. Maybe next time!
