A Hobbyist Bear

Hobbyist, nerd, miniature painter, bear. I'm the guy who paints like it's still 1995.
All LGTBQA+ people are safe and valid around me. Him/He.
This is lile the fourth time I've seen a post like this. I totally get that Terrifier is not for everyone, but can people stop pretending it's some traumatic snuff film on the level of something like the Serbian Film? Trust me, guys, there's WAY worse films out there.

This afternoon's viewing. Had to switch it up a little, I can't watch big oiled up muscle men all the time!

Just finished up my entry for a local painting competition tomorrow. I Thought about entering some old hammer, but I decided to just do what I'm best at and paint in my style.

It's good to be back!

Tonight's viewing. I was originally going to watch The Barbarians but seem to have accidentally bought the Italian version. Lol, whoops.

10. Thirteen Ghosts. We've had killer clowns, dolls, robots, zombies, and demons aplenty. So why not add ghosts, 13 of them no less! A family inherits a strange mansion from a distant uncle, only to discover the house is actually a giant machine powered by violent tormented souls

9. Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Gotta include Freddy, right? Dream Warrior almost made the cut, but I think New Nightmare is one of the more unique entries to the franchise. When the Nightmare on Elm Street movies end, Freddy enters the real world to torment the actors, especially Heather Langenkamp

8. Jason X. With the exception of the first, I think this is the best entrance to Friday the 13th. That's right, I said it. Fight me. It's fun. It's a fun movie to watch. Jason is an absolute beast, and it's got some of the franchises best kills. Get over your biases and check it out!

7. Night of The Living Dead, the remake from 1990. The original is great, but I much prefer this version. Patricia Tallman's version of Barbara is much more of a fleshed pit character than the original. Plus, it's directed by the legendary Tom Savini.

6. Bride of Chucky. Speaking of Brad Dourif! I almost picked the first Child's Play for this spot, but I feel Bride of Chucky doesn't get enough love. The introduction of Jennifer Tilly is a great inclusion to the franchise, and the kills are some of the best of the franchise

5. Death Machine. Something more sci-fi now, this is one of those movies I rented as a teen, and it's stuck with me ever since. Part Jaws, part Terminator, combined with an absolutely amazing over the top performance by Brad Dourif. There are multiple cuts of the film, the 122-minute one is the best

4. American Werewolf in London. Easily the best Werewolf movie ever made. It's tense, it's moody, it's scary, it's got everything. I almost struggle to say anything about it because it's just one of those perfect movies. Like Werewolves? Watch this movie.

3. The Autopsy of Jane Doe. A father and son duo of morticians are tasked with uncovering the cause of death of a mysterious unknown woman. The more they examine her body, the more strange things start to happen. It's one of my all-time favourites. If you've never seen it, you're missing out.

2. Terrifier. I love the Terrifier movies. They are a perfect unapologetic love letter to the slasher genre, but there's a catch on this one. I strongly recommend 2 as it is the best of the trilogy, but if you've never seen any of them, start with 1. If you can handle 1, you can handle the rest.

1. Gonna start with the obvious choice first, Suspiria from 1977. This movie gets an insane amount of praise, enough so that it may seem over hyped, but it is an incredibly spooky movie with some incredible visuals and cinematography. If you've never seen it, now's your chance. It's free on Tubi

Sword and sorcery is one of my favourite genres because what other type of movie causes this kind of live reaction.

Deathstalkers acquired. I managed to get this for an extremely decent bargain, considering there are some people listing all four movies together for $350+.

I overcame my autism burnout long enough to paint up a cairn reaper. Testing out ideas for my nighthaunt colour scheme.

Coming to the realisation that my new hyper fixation is physical media. Specifically sword and sorcery films. But can you blame me?? How am I supposed to focus on anything when there's Iron Master going on! Look at the muscularity!

Tonight's viewing. Since no one can review this movie without being a weirdo, I thought I'd check it out myself. So far, it's authentic 80's style sword and sorcery. They understood the assignment.

Tonight's viewing. I mentioned to girlfriend I loved this movie and she bought it on iTunes. This movie is up there with John Carpenter's The Thing for best remake of a 50's horror flick.

Tonight's late night movie. I was in the mood for a horror film all day but settled on some trash instead
