Not sure what this space is for me yet, but I'm happy to be here 🦋

The truth is even simpler, and much worse: this regime wants to dismantle our entire society and economy, strip it for parts, pocket the proceeds, and watch it all burn. There is no grand scheme to any of this. It's all personal profit.

Florida continues to follow me - the candy shop at work has these adorable little chocolate alligators now and they are so. stinkin. cute.

I still can't quite decide how I want to divide up my social media these days - bsky, substack, and maybeeeee still IG because all of my friends are still fartin around over there. Quite the conundrum, but I think my space here is about to get a lot more political and a lot more sardonic 🫠

I've missed quiet cafe mornings with a good book and delicious breakfast sandwich. Almost enough to make me go back to school... but not quite, I study my way now 😜

I feel bad that I dropped off on here, though I expected it a bit. I jumped around to other social media apps for a little bit and I think I'll be settling here and on substack, though I haven't posted much there yet. This decision feels good tho - I believe all my needs will be met in these spaces.

Tonight I went to the first meeting of a new local queer group, organized via random Reddit survey in our rather small town. Perhaps a small step towards intentional community, but I'm proud of myself nonetheless for overcoming my anxiety and showing up.

I think I'm gonna start blogging again, but like, kinda secretly, for me. Or for my future kids or family that wants to know what I was up to in the roaring 20s, whatever. I just feel like my thoughts are too long-form for bsky but not important enough for anywhere else. Idk, we shall see 🙈

Another recent addition, this mystery plant was labeled simply #tropical #houseplant at the grocery store, and I'm still not sure what it is! Further inspection revealed no drainage holes at all in either the deco pot or cache pot, I know that can't be good 🥲

This so much. I'll even follow a creator if they only post about their regular shit here - I'm just not tryna be advertised to 24/7 here like everywhere else.
I don’t wanna follow no content creators or wanna be celebrities. I want regular degular folks on my skyline 💯

Me @ myself right now because I feel like I've become a living ghost known only to a handful of people in my daily life. That doesn't feel like enough in these times.

While I love that I'm suddenly being fed a ton of #BookSky content, my only complaint is how consumer-minded many book readers seem to be. I don't understand these towering TBR shelves while your local library, Libby, and Hoopla are all available at your fingertips!

Advice from a Literature teacher and resister: read your history, but don’t forget your literature.

Resistance is woven through the words of abolitionism and feminism and anti-fascism. Read the history and the literature.

Good morning, beautiful Bluesky folks! It's a great day to not be surrounded by Russian bots 🦋

🤝
The energy on BlueSky right now – the eagerness of connection – is exactly what we need. Our strength isn't just in our numbers, but in our relationship to one another.

We should hold hands.

I am listening to a mystery audiobook and the characters use the term “fartlighting” to describe situations where someone says something outrageous to cause a stink. I have needed that term for my entire adult life.

Release the Gaetz report you cowards
Anyone else find it weird that the guy who says he has his kid track his porn use, is refusing to let anyone see the ethics report on a guy who was investigated for sex trafficking kids?
