So! Hopefully that’s everything 😆
This year has been a lot and quite taxing on me mentally and physically especially with this years hamster issues earlier.
But hopefully things can sort of calm down now.
I hope.

Next, we got a kitten!
She was a suprise from a family member who told us it would be years before they bred kittens. (Assuming it would be when my current cats are much older, though some are seniors already).
But they did it within 9 months of the conversation lmao.

Bc of how expensive things are getting, we have to limit how many rescue hams we can take in going forward. While we have 10 spots, this may look like a max of 4 for the near future. I never want to take in more pets than I can physically

Sunny has become quite social (I hope I introduced her lmao) compared to how she was! Which is great news! (Left)
Poppy has developed mammary & reproductive tumors. Unfortunately the only options for her are meds, monitoring, and intervention to pass if she needs it.

Hamsters are not disposable pets.
Hamsters are not toys.
Hamsters are no different than your cats or dogs. They deserve to be treated with respect and love.
Them being small or short lived does not excuse or justify mistreatment.

And I’m so happy for him, that he got to experience his passing at home. From simply just being old.
I’m so happy he told me it was time like I asked him to.
We will miss him 🥹

And it took up until early this year for him to trust anyone who wasn’t me.

He was absed. He didn’t trust humans. He’d scream at me every time I tried to clean his bed.
Over time, he got more comfortable and trusted me more. He no longer screamed at me.

And he became disposable.
When I arrived to pick him up. The entire family including the parents were abrasive over him. They told me how mean and evil he was. With a final comment of “good luck with that one” with an eye roll as they left.

It seemed like just a hamster who needed a rehome.
But it turned out he was living in a shoe box with pine bedding and sores all over his skin.
His owner (who was VERY young) would grab him against his wishes and hold him by limbs.
