Do you all remember that story about the libertarians who took over a town in New Hampshire and refused to pay for trash pick up and then the bears invaded?

I love that story.

I think to them, "women" is a concept, like when they say they're fighting for women they don't mean like actual human women, they mean the concept of an oppressed subjected group that they can assault and abuse. That's what they're fighting for. For that to exist.

PREACH. The only ones showing up for us right now ARE the "crazy radicals"! All the moderates are like, well, we'll sacrifice trans ppl, pregnant ppl, gun victims, the environment, let them kidnap anyone brown...and maybe that will win us an election? - what's left to win if you sacrifice everyone?!

A centrist wouldn't have moved the needle a single point.
Progressives progress.
Centrists are fence-sitters.
We don't need DINOs, we need real democratic representation.
Centrists need not apply.

YES, @aftynbehn.bsky.social, RUN AGAIN!
December 4, 2025 at 2:38 AM
Yeah. The Democrat moderates are so far to the right, no one gets out of bed to vote for them because there's not a big enough difference. The voters are way more radical than the organizers courting million and billionaire funding are willing to admit.
December 4, 2025 at 2:37 AM
We had a long time Democrat organizer run for a local office as an independent, change literally nothing else about her platform, and she won AND got reelected. It's all about the ground game. And it takes someone smart, local, and very progressive to be interesting enough to turn out volunteers.

I'm not going to do a bunch of research for you but I will tell you that Tennessee is the only place I voted Green party and had them win. In red states, progressives don't have to pretend to be centrist because they're already going to be painted as radical so why not really go for it.
December 4, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Let me tell you how much I give not one red hot shit whether or not I make it to the polls if the Democrat doesn't support black people, trans people, reproductive healthcare, or gun control. I'm not donating, volunteering, phone banking, talking about them to my friends. Centrists depress the vote.
December 4, 2025 at 2:31 AM
EXACTLY. Absolutely no one wants a centrist dem. Progressives aren't going to volunteer for or turn out heavily for a centrist. And Republicans won't vote for a "kind of" misogynist racist platform when they have a real misogynist racist platform to vote for. Centrists appeal to exactly no one.

A centrist would not have done better. A centrist will never do better. It's like you're running a healthy meal against cotton candy, and when idiots are like no we'll survive on cotton candy, you're like maybe we should have offered diet cotton candy? No. It's fucking stupid and no one wants that.

Dude, in Tennessee right now, with a Republican super majority heavily gerrymandering and suppressing voters, her performance is absolutely astounding. She had a great ground game, and organization takes time. You want to win, you got to get out there first.
December 4, 2025 at 2:18 AM
AND just like you said - contesting elections makes them spend money, stretching their resources thinner!!! She made them empty the coffers! They spent multimillions on attack ads to lose ground in a HEAVILY gerrymandered district.

Ground game is what we have to work with.

If the study doesn't control for content, then all you're finding is: ignoring the erosion of human rights and climate collapse is less upsetting than watching it. Ignorance is bliss, but doesn't inform or solve problems.
