At large elections favor the majority. They were used to bypass the voters rights act because if there's no districts, there's no one representing the monitory district.

Never forget that Weight Watchers got its start by charging money for a free city-run diet program. We released a whole WW episode a few years ago: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m...

I'd bet that patch job was done by Seattle Public Utilities. They have a habit of that.

Our work, and especially all you have done, to advance active transportation threatens the petrochecmical-patriarchy. Happy to be in this with you! They are starting to feel threatened, which means we are making a difference. ❤️

To be express routes, by definition, they do.

There is a lot of effort that goes into planning express transit service, and for good reason. The public expectation that it shouldn't cost anything and that it's just 'buses on highways' is used by anti-transit advocates to argue that agencies and projects are mismanaged. The nuance matters.

Specifically, Express and BRT service should serve longer commute distances, have fewer stops, and travel in HOV lanes to move faster and at a reliable headway. Private systems often work on the backs of the public systems only after the infrastructure is already in-place.

It's also not as easy as just selling it as traffic reduction... See: Seattle Times

My fantasies don't include highways. 😂

I'm not reverse engineering anything. I'm trying to undo the mistakes we made to make room for something better. Hopefully something that doesn't enrage and kill it's users.

There's a madman attacking us from within. This chaos means those of us with means are working harder than ever to clean up this mess... There's a lot that needs being done, but that doesn't we aren't paying attention. It's hard to fight back while you're also struggling to stay afloat.

I lived Broadway in Seattle in 2016. The marches started right after the election and continued, almost daily, the women's match in 2017, and BLM protests starting in 2017 culminating in 2020.

My point is that it's not as easy as 'jusr hiring drivers and buying vehicles.' A lot goes into real transit planning and system engineering, even on highway BRT systems. It's cheaper than building rail, or new freeways, but I would appreciate it if you didn't minimize it!

We have been speaking out and fighting back, you've just only been able to hear the other side.
