This series brings together leading scholars to explore historical perspectives on health inequalities through the lens of cause-of-death data. ⬇️🧵

The event was officially opened by @timriswick.bsky.social , who emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing historical demography. A great start to what promises to be an inspiring week of discussion and exchange!

The workshop was well-attended and featured a series of fascinating presentations on sources, methods, and databases that help us better understand historical causes of death.

🗓 Held on 9 September 2025 at the University of Bologna, this workshop precedes the 6th Conference of the European Society of Historical Demography (10–13 September).
