🚨WE NEED YOUR HELP!🚨

Our walls have heard 130 years of Manchester stories, laughter, music, and a fair few pints. 🍺 We’re proud to be part of this city’s soul, but we need your support to help protect The Marble Arch for generations to come.

As ever, the world would be a better place if more people listened to me. So…there’s very few tickets left. I can’t begin to tell you how good a beer festival it is. Give it a try, you honestly won’t regret it. You might even enjoy yourself 😂

Well. Not only a post to melt any heart but a brilliant explanation by Hannah of why #ISBF is so important. Come for the beer, stay for the lovely people you’ll meet and know that you’re helping people to help people #mentalhealthmatters

BREAKING: Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer Gets an Extension
BREAKING: Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer Gets an Extension
If Jed Hoyer were going to be extended as Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations, I was hoping this would be the timing: do it before he makes a whole bunch of really significant organizational moves at the Trade Deadline. Not that you would expect Hoyer to be a guy who gives up the farm just to try to make one postseason appearance and keep his job. But you do want the guy who makes those decisions to also be the guy who sees through their fruits or faults – let him lay out and execute a long-term plan, without having to think too short-term. Again, assuming you were going to extend him at some point anyway. Given how good the Cubs have been this year, and how promising things look in the near term, it was just about a fait accompli that Jed Hoyer was going to be extended. So, then, I’m glad to see today’s breaking news: per multiple reports, Jed Hoyer has received a multi-year extension to remain the President of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs. Terms and length are not known at this time, nor are any specifics on deals for GM Carter Hawkins, AGM Jarred Banner, etc., etc. All we know right now is that Hoyer has received a new multi-year deal. On the whole, it’s an appropriate decision given how the organization has been set up, including some pretty dramatic organizational improvements in scouting and player development. With Craig Counsell in as manager for another three years, and with him working so closely with the front office, I wouldn’t be surprised if those deals are now lined up. I like it. There will be much more to say about the front office structure and future for the organization in the months ahead. For now, you know what I’m gonna say next … Now that Jed has his extension, time to give Kyle Tucker his! Mandatory Credit: Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports
