I used to think the glass was half full.
You’re getting positive write ups from “journalists” working for media outlets that normally would seek your destruction.
Maybe Starmer is the current target and you are one of their weapons. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Later to be turned on of course.

you end up as Schrodinger's refugee, as the Danes call it. On one hand as a migrant you have to integrate, learn the language, raise your kids as British, etc. On the other from one day to the next you may be sent "home" to a country your kids have never known.

I understand the principle of choosing lesser evils, prioritising greater goods, compromise. [Though see ref above to others' work on the political futility here]. But I don't see what a social democratic party is for if not for offering these basic manifestations of human decency.

It's grim to watch the countries to which refugees flow [partly out of luck that those countries find themselves stable, partly a legacy of those countries' past foreign policies..] compete in a futile and immoral, zero-sum game to deny them sanctuary.

It will reduce the effort refugees make to integrate, something that the racists in Labour and elsewhere claim to worry about. As asylum experts point out, grasp of local policies is often not great so it probably won't reduce the flow of asylum seekers, which is presumably the hope.

My guess is that it will be counter-productive in many ways. It's another policy trying to attract Reform voters that won't come back, because Labour can always be outdone and they don't want to vote Labour whatever, and will shed further votes to the left/liberal axis.

Is undermining and overthrowing governments ethical? Is starting wars around the world ethical? Is supporting and aiding a genocide ethical? That’s what even the “decent” Presidents have been doing for decades.

Makes you wonder why Starmer bothered to send the friend of a notorious pedophile to the US to be his Trump whisperer.
November 14, 2025 at 11:56 PM
There’s decades of shit that justifies that.
November 14, 2025 at 11:21 PM
Absolutely. And it’s slightly too late to be complaining about that now.

McSweeney and Corbyn. Both ruining the party they are supposed to be in charge of. Ironic or what?
Just join the fucking Greens.
November 14, 2025 at 10:31 PM
That would be #374 in the charges against him.
November 14, 2025 at 10:09 PM
That headline must have been before the NYT were bending over for him.

Hmmm 🤔

Rich though.

Why not bring the whole lot of them down?
November 14, 2025 at 9:15 PM
I’m 70 so can almost remember that golden time.

Only decent thing the cunts have done.
November 14, 2025 at 8:45 PM
Despite all the opprobrium he has faced and the dirty deeds by McSweeney et al to undermine him. I tend to think that he is politically naive. Simply not egotistical enough.

So Woman’s Place UK which she is aligned to isn’t anti-trans?
As an avowed Green supporter you are very keen to contort yourself into hypocritical positions to support YP.
November 14, 2025 at 6:47 PM
They are outspokenly anti-trans. That is ok in a left wing inclusive party?
November 14, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Indeed. Feckless parents sometimes have to give away their baby for it’s own good.

Conway is right of course about Trump and Epstein and young girls. But he’s deflecting from why the Biden administration didn’t dig deeper.
Many of the rich and powerful at the time were “at it”. Republican and Democrat.
